Mr Nish Mehta

Clinical Lead for ENT

Mr Nish Mehta graduated with double distinction in medicine and 1st Class Honours in Physiology from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and completed his advanced surgical training in leading London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street, St Bartholomew’s, Royal National ENT and Imperial Trust hospitals. He gained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons and undertook further international surgical training in the USA, Netherlands and India. He was then selected to train to become one of the UK’s handful of hearing implant surgeons as part of the prestigious Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship in Sydney, Australia.

Mr Nish Mehta was awarded a Wellcome Trust Doctoral Fellowship to undertake a PhD in data sciences at UCL. He is now a NIHR BRC funded Associate Professor of deafness and hearing health at the internationally renowned Ear Institute, within UCL and co-lead of the NIHR Hearing health Health Informatics Collaborative. He leads a body of funded research and supervises masters and PhD students on improving detection and treatments for hearing abnormalities, focusing on innovative technologies and artificial intelligence. He has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of three medical textbooks.
