Toby is Director for the UCL Centre of Cardiovascular and Interventional Research, overseeing PhD students and undergraduates. He is one of the first surgeons in the UK to offer both open and endovascular options to patients with vascular disease and is a pioneer of anaemia management and intravenous iron therapy in the UK.
Toby has published papers on anaemia management including national guidelines from the department of Health, NHS Blood and Transplant, AAGBI, British Society for Haematology. He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences to promote anaemia management and intravenous iron therapy.
His areas of expertise and interest include vascular surgery, diabetic foot disease, varicose veins, carotid disease in stroke and TIA, aortic aneurysms, endovascular aneurysm repair, peripheral vascular disease, intermittent claudication, angioplasty and stenting, and blood transfusion.
